Victory Over Aggression:
Celebrating 30 Years of Magyal Pomra Encampment

Book Announcement

Under the auspices of Makpön Jesse Grimes and the Council of the Makkyi Rabjam, the Kasung Publications group has compiled Victory Over Aggression, a book commemorating 30 years of Magyal Pomra Encampment. The book is 96 pages long, with photographs in color and black & white from each of the Encampments and Gars of the last 30 years, plus commentary by senior officers and kasung involved in the Encampments and Gars.

The Makkyi Rabjam Trinley Dradül kindly wrote a foreword for the book, and Camp Commanders, photographers, and the Shambhala Archives provided insight, memories, and photographs. Six essays were written especially for this publication:
Naked. With a Twist. Served Straight Up by Kasung Dapön Kyi Khyap James Gimian (Ret.)
Brilliant Emptiness: The Feminine Principle by Dapön B Suzann Duquette
What is Encampment? by Dapön A Hudson Shotwell (Ret.)
The Magyal Pomra Mandala: Unleashing the Power of Military Form by Kusung Dapön Kyi Khyap Martin Janowitz (Ret.)
The NCO Corps by Sergeant-Major Grant MacLean (Ret.)
and Skirmish Practice: 30 Years Later by Lamen Kyi Khyap, Acharya Mitchell Levy.
