Sun Camp Launch New Website

Mar 5, 2012

"One of the basic texts Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche wrote about how to raise a Sakyong says that you should put someone in an environment free from jealousy, free from competition, and infuse them with their basic goodness. That is exactly what happens at Sun Camp." -- Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche

The Sun Camp Leadership Group is pleased to launch a new website: help to spread the word about these remarkable summer programs.

Sun Camp is an outdoor, sleep-away camp based on the idea that if young people discover who they truly are, they can grow into confident, compassionate, and wise adults. Campers create and live in their own outdoor environment with simplicity as the ground for experiencing daily life as open space. Sun Camp is a place to have fun, make friends and learn to take responsibility for oneself and one's world.

Camp consists of three interconnected programs
Sun Camp: the main week-long program, for ages 10-16.
Cadet Command Workshop (CCW): a leadership training intensive for returning participants age 14-16 that starts three days before camp and continues throughout Sun Camp.
Rites of Warriorship (ROW): a rites of passage program for 16 year-olds, for the two days following camp.

The dates for 2012 programs are:
