Donating to Shambhala

In order to stabilize the finances of Shambhala and foster the growth of our community, President Richard Reoch has asked this year for every Shambhala member to consider signing up for or raising their recurring donations at least $10 a month.

Exciting News!

We are delighted to report that the Centre of the Shambhala Mandala is now fully free of operating debt as a result of the recent matching gift campaign. For more information click here.

Now when you give a recurring or one-time donation to Shambhala core services every dollar goes towards helping support a host of initiatives, core services, program planning, curriculum development, and more.

Your new donation may go towards:

  • support for small groups with few teachers, and groups in remote locations worldwide
  • gathering the potency of our teachings into a unified, clear path of practice and study
  • more marketing, communications and technology initiatives
  • providing support for the Sakyong Wangmo so that she can travel throughout the Shambhala mandala
  • funding for greater participation from the sangha in governance meetings, leadership training, and regional conferences
  • increased professional management and reporting on our finances

As a global community, this year we have already reached the tipping point that gets us on the road to stable, strong financial footing for the future and are beginning to plan for our future and create new posts and services to benefit your local Shambhala Centre.

While not everyone is able to give $10 a month some of us may be able to give more. If you fall into the latter category we ask that you consider giving more to close that gap. We thank you for your generosity!

The Shambhala community worldwide met the challenge of meeting the matching gift from Shambhala member Gregg Campbell, offered through The Sakyong Foundation. That mandala-wide effort, combined with a generous bequest, has eliminated the central operating debt of Shambhala. In appreciation for everyone who worked so hard to make this possible and was so generous in their giving, the President of Shambhala made this short film of the traditional circumambulation of the Great Stupa at Boudha in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.

Monthly Donations

Recurring monthly donations give us a stable basis for planning our finances and, if you sign up today, your gift will be matched by a one time donation of 10 times the amount! If you are able to give $20 a month you are essentially giving an additional gift of $200 through this matching gift. Of course, if you wish to stop making the payments at any time, you can.

One-time Donations

One-time donations are always appreciated; they are a valuable contribution to the essential support of the mandala.

Planned Giving

Making a bequest to Shambhala provides an important legacy for the future, ensuring the growth of Shambhala for generations to come.

Thank you for your generosity!

Whether or not you are able to make a donation at this time, we know there are many other ways in which people are helping to build Shambhala, including the many wonderful volunteers and staff at Shambhala Meditation Centres around the world. On behalf of the Sakyong, we thank you for everything that you are doing through your own practice and generosity.
