Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony
with Richard John
March 23 / 5:30 PM - March 23 / 6:30 PM
The bodhisattva vow is a further commitment to put others before oneself and to work wholeheartedly for their benefit. The basis of this vow is the aspiration to develop friendliness, compassion, and genuine insight through the practice of the six paramitas and to undertake the view and practice of the mahayana. You can read more about this vow in the talk “The Bodhisattva”, by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
One must have taken refuge already, discuss this further with their meditation instructor and study the Bodhisattva Vow Sourcebook (available at the Centre).
One may not take refuge and bodhisattva vows at the same time.
Pre-registration at least one week in advance is mandatory. You must provide a recommendation letter from your Meditation Instructor to be approved to take the vow. Please ask them to email Alexis Shotwell atwith this letter.
