Fearlessness In Everyday Life (Online)

Fearlessness in Everyday Life is the fourth course in the Everyday Life series. Prerequisite: Joy in Everyday Life or permission of instructor. If you need financial assistance for this program, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Shambhala Training weekend programs Level I-V are recommended to be taken in parallel with the Everyday Life courses.

This Fearlessness in Everyday Life course is being hosted in-person by the Shambhala Meditation of New York.

About Fearlessness in Everday Life

Fear is rampant in our world. On a societal level, we experience uncertainty about the future of our country, our planet, and our civilization. On a personal level, fear can manifest as anything from a nagging sense of self-doubt to a static background of anxiety.

No matter how fear presents itself, it is necessary to examine how we cope. Do we drown our anxieties in vices or distractions? Does a fear-based worry prevent us from feeling confident in who we are?

In this course, we’ll open ourselves up to the possibility that we can control our relationship to fear through meditation. We’ll explore the exhilarating sensation of “just being” with our fears as a first step towards developing a genuine, unshakeable self-confidence.

This course will present practical tools for acknowledging and understanding fear, and explore the Shambhala view that skillfully working with fear can actually serve as a stepping stone for personal transformation.

This five-part course offers instruction on the following topics:  

Class 1: Fear and Fearlessness
Class 2: Contemplating Death and Impermanence
Class 3: Working with Fear Itself
Class 4: Letting Go
Class 5: Unconditional Confidence

Rather than hide from our own existence, we will look directly into the uncertainty of our lives and get our first taste of unconditional fearlessness.

About The Teachers:

Rosanne Proga has practiced Shambhala Buddhism as a student of both Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. She currently manages data and evaluation for a non-profit agency, after having worked in business as a software developer.  She has also taught in academia and is the author of Math for the Anxious.

Gayle Van Gils opens the minds and hearts of her clients and helps them find the courage and resilience to deal with the uncertainty and challenges of change, as well as to uncover the confidence to excel  in life and work.  

Gayle is the award-winning author of Happier at Work: The Power of Love to Transform the Workplace, and also the creator of Smart Tips: Wellness – a new course hosted by Udemy for Business, offering inspiration and guidance to upgrade one’s physical, emotional, social and financial wellbeing.

An experienced meditation teacher, and a certified instructor of Search Inside Yourself – the mindfulness and emotional intelligence training developed and proven at Google, Gayle is founder of the consulting, training and coaching company Transform Your Culture. A popular mindfulness teacher on the app Simple Habit, and a Goleman EI meta-coach, helping leaders and other coaches to deepen their Emotional Intelligence, Gayle has helped thousands of people to find more peace, energy, inspiration, joy and success in their lives and businesses.
