In Shambhala culture, there are 4 special seasonal holidays each year. These special days of celebration are called Nyida Days – the word Nyida comes from nyima (“sun”) and dawa (“moon”). Nyida days occur on or near the days of the spring and autumn equinoxes and the summer and winter solstices.
Harvest of Peace, held around the time of the autumn equinox, is an opportunity to gather and celebrate the riches of our local culture and heritage. This year in particular we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of building our beautiful Center and making it our permanent home.
We’ll begin at 10:00 with our regular Sunday morning practice session. At 11:30 we will break for a special program, then we will conclude with a harvest lunch. Main dishes will be provided, you are invited to bring a dish to share. Everyone is welcome!
