You are all cordially invited to gather in celebratinh the new Year of the Wood-Dragon! Losar, or the Tibetan New Year we call Shambhala Day, is the most important holiday in our Shambhala culture.
This is an important and touching celebration for our community. We have organized a schedule that will encourage us to come together in great number at the Center. (schedule below). There will be a word from our director, Jean-Luc Monfrais. An short overview of our Center’s excellent financial situation will also be presented by our dear Geneviève Martineau.
Following tradition, Shambhala Global Services (SGS) will present an official roll call and Tibetan New Year wishes from Shambhala centers across the globe. This broader community Zoom event will begin at 1 p.m. (Montreal time).
Our chosen theme for Shambhala Day 2023 / Dragon-Wood year is the importance of the Sangha, one of the Three Jewels. Practicing with the Sangha is a skillful means, but practicing for the Sangha can be a powerful path to enlightenment. The Three Jewels are each unique and complementary, each holding the same power of awakening. Just as you need the Sangha, the Sangha needs you, the Center needs you. Without you there is no Sangha, no Center. The Buddhist path is a powerful three-phase motor. May we commit to our Center. Personally.
The celebration at the centre will unfold as follows:
10:00 a.m.- 11am: Sadhana of Kindness with Massimo Guerrera. Open to all, at the centre or by zoom.
