Community Gathering: Harvesting Peace & Deep Listening
“People start to heal the moment they feel heard”. Cheryl Richardson
This Community Gathering is the 2nd event in our Harvest of Peace fall season.
Many spiritual traditions use listening circles to deepen and grow. We will follow a format called The Way of Council used by the Zen Peacemakers Community. It is a process of creating a safe container so we can deeply listen to one anothers’ voices. This will include adhering to certain guidelines. Please plan to enter the shrine room no later than 12:30. We will meditate together for the first fifteen minutes. At 12:45, we will introduce people to The Way of Council. No one will be admitted after 12:45. Please plan to stay for the entire meeting.
Drawing closer in community is often a matter of simply and deeply listening to one another, and in turn speaking from our hearts. Rather than relaying our own agendas, what we think should happen, what we think of one another, we begin by simply listening.
All members of Shambhala, both new and old, are invited and encouraged to participate, share your own voice, and/or listen to others.
