A POT-LUCK CELEBRATION at

VICTORIA SHAMBHALA MEDITATION CENTRE

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 22, 2024

(following Sunday Morning Sitting)

1130 am – 4 pm

Our Shambhala community has a tradition of marking the changes of the seasons with a community celebration. These are called nyida days, from the Tibetan words nyima (sun) and dawa (moon).   Nyida days occur on or near the days of the equinoxes and solstices. 

We call the autumn equinox Harvest of Peace, and gather to appreciate, celebrate and share the bounty of the season. 

11.30 am set up tables and prepare pot-luck food & refreshments

12 noon  Opening Lhasang (smoke blessing)

Food, games, chalk art: FUN-raising along with membership and meditation. 

A harvest of community and a pot-luck celebration with prizes for the “People’s Choice contest” for the best three savoury and the best three sweet dishes. 

There will be a video presentation from: Shambhala “Touching the Earth Collective” Global Celebration of Harvest of Peace.

4 pm – take-down and clean up – Thank You!
