About the Recorded Series

This Eco-Dharma series was streamed by Shambhala Online in July 2024, in collaboration with Dechen Chöling Retreat Centre in France, and was hosted by the Shambhala Touching the Earth Collective.

Presenters were Helena Norberg-Hodge, Dougald Hine, Liane Stephan, Adam Lobel, Catherine McGee and Guhyapati.

The four recorded sessions offer 5 hours of presentations on the intersection between a mindful life, Buddhism, ecology, and care for our planet.

Topics:

Local Food Can Save the World with Helena Norberg-Hodge.

Helena argues that globalization has led to the destruction of local food economies and small farms, contributing to various crises, including mental health issues. Localized food economies are crucial for enhancing health and well-being, while also challenging the dominant economic systems that have distanced us from the land.

At Work in the Ruins: Finding Our Way In a Chaotic World with Dougald Hine.

Dougald shares insights on navigating chaos, emphasizing the need for new language around climate change. He outlines four tasks for transitions: Salvaging the past, mourning losses, discerning truths, and recognizing marginalized knowledge.

Inner Green Deal with Liane Stephan

The Inner Green Deal aims to bring the inner dimension of sustainability to communities, emphasizing mindfulness and connection to nature. Liane highlights the urgent need to address environmental degradation.

This Sacred Earth with Adam Lobel, Catherine McGee and Guhyapati.

Adam, Catherine and Guhyapati share insights on Buddhism, meditation and ecological practices, emphasizing  building relationships, trust, and collective action for societal change.
