Shambhala Buddhism’s liturgical year follows a lunisolar calendar, meaning that our celebration days relate to both the phases of the moon and stations of the sun. We call these Nyida Days, from the Tibetan words for Sun and Moon, and they include four seasonal celebrations that mark the solstices and equinoxes.
Our Autumn Equinox celebration is Harvest of Peace: An important time for us to join together as a community to practice, celebrate, and enjoy each other’s company.
This year, please consider joining Shambhala Online’s Sunday Gathering celebration featuring Touching the Earth Collective at 3:00pm ET. Join Touching the Earth Collective at their digital Wood Dragon Table for a celebration that includes a lhasang smoke ceremony, an outdoor guided meditation, offerings of music and singing, and a special guest from Karme Chöling. You can find further details and registration by clicking here.
Dear Shambhala Toronto members and friends, we would love to host an in-person celebration/hybrid gathering for Harvest of Peace, but need a coordinator to do so. Please contact Shane Lamond at [email protected] ATTN: Shane, if you are available/interested. Training/guidance can be provided.
