Like cultures all over the world, we gather to celebrate the changing of seasons. In Shambhala these are called “nyida” days from the Tibetan words nyima (sun) and dawa (moon), and they occur on, or near, the days of the equinoxes and solstices.
Harvest of Peace is our autumn celebration. It’s associated with a feeling of gathering together or “harvesting” our warmth, connection, community spirit and shared resources.
Please join us as we celebrate with a potluck lunch following our regular Sunday Sitting practice.
Click here to register and and here to sign up for the potluck.
To help organize this year’s celebration we’re forming two teams and inviting all to help with the planning and preparation – the feast team and the activities team. The feast team will coordinate the food for the day, traditionally a bounteous autumn potluck. The activities team will select, and prepare for, the activities we’ll include in our celebration.
Are you inspired to help? Let us know which team you’d like to join when you register or email the Culture & Community Well-Being Circle at [email protected].
