Meditation; the Path of Caring, Curiosity and Courage

Meditation;  the Path of Caring, Curiosity and Courage

with  Christine Heming

Sunday, October 27, Granville Ferry Hall

9 am to 3:30 pm

There are many reasons to meditate – it is good for your health, it can relieve stress, and it can help you be more mindful in your daily life.  But from the Buddhist perspective, meditation is much more – it is a way to connect with the deep and profound goodness of our humanity.  That goodness manifests as caring, curiosity, and courage.

We could say these three principles are the qualities we had when we were born.  Because they are innate, they are not learned over time, improved with education, or diminished by life’s misfortunes.  These treasures are within us waiting to be discovered.

Join us to explore how caring, curiosity and courage can become potent elements of our sitting practice as well as foster a loving attitude towards ourselves and a merciful approach to others.

This program will be facilitated by Christine Heming and include sitting meditation practice, contemplations, talks and group discussion.  Christine has been a meditation instructor and teacher of the buddhadharma for over 40 years.  She is particularly skilled in bringing the teachings into our sitting practice and our daily life.
