Join us for Community Nyinthün, a group practice of sitting and walking meditation. (Nyin is Tibetan for “day”, and Thün means “session” of formal meditation.) The group practice of Nyinthün is a special opportunity to extend and deepen one’s meditation in an uplifted and supportive environment. The deepening of our personal practice afforded by nyinthün in turn gives momentum to our regular daily practice.
The morning session is from 9 am – 12:00 pm and the afternoon session is from 1:30 pm – 4 pm. For those attending just a half day, please arrive ready to start practice at 9 am for the morning session and 1:30 pm for the afternoon session. Please observe noble silence once we begin sitting from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Meditation instruction will be offered in the morning if needed. If you plan to stay for the lunch break, you may bring a brown bag lunch or eat out nearby. Please continue to observe noble silence during this time.
This is a self-staffed event. A coordinator will help attendees with rota positions of tea preparation, afternoon Umdze, and clean-up. Please register if you plan to attend. Suggested donation $25, or offer an amount that works for you.
