The official vow will be given by Judith Simmer-Brown on Sunday, November 24. You are strongly encouraged to talk with a meditation instructor if you are interested in taking on this profound commitment.
Please note that to take the Bodhisattva vow you must already have taken the Refuge vow at an earlier point in time (at least a year prior.)
The bodhisattva vow is further commitment to put others before oneself and to work wholeheartedly for their benefit. The basis of this vow is the aspiration to develop friendliness, compassion, and genuine insight through the practice of the six paramitas and to undertake the view and practice of the mahayana.
The Bodhisattva Vow is a further step taken in the Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhist traditions. It represents a lifelong dedication to the welfare of all sentient beings. All students are welcome to attend this class to learn more about it.
There is no charge for attending the class, but a cash teaching offering is traditional and much appreciated.
If you have any questions about the vow class, please contact Colleen Roundhill.
