This first course in the Basic Goodness Series focuses on our understanding of self and explores teachings on basic goodness, selflessness, the arising of ego and the five skandhas, buddha nature, cocoon, and the confidence of warriorship. We will practice contemplative investigations of the self, based on the four Foundations of Mindfulness. The course includes meditation instruction, group discussion, talks, and question and answer sessions.
Participants will learn traditional Buddhist teachings on how our sense of self arises moment by moment to provide a reference point and how meditation practice is used as a way to contact and express the mind of basic goodness.
Participants may attend the weeknight classes via Zoom. The Saturday retreat is in person only. Please note during registration whether you plan to attend any part of the class on Zoom.
Limited Scholarships available for members of the BIPOC community. Contact Lisa Federico for more information [email protected].
