Imagine a very very long Wood Dragon table. The center of this very long table is adorned with bowls of peaches, apples, plates of tomatoes, potatoes, creamy cheeses, fresh loaves of Sourdough bread, cups of cider, raspberry pies, whatever pasta dish is your favorite, soups, and other potluck offerings. Bountiful flower arrangements drip out of large open-mouthed vases and dried herbs hang from the ceiling, beautifully scenting the air. Thick pillar candles are lit all down the table, casting everything in a rosy glow.
Around this long table are your dear friends, family, kids, new friends and acquaintances – with some dogs sniffing underfoot for food falling off forks… WHAT IS THIS? It is the beautiful, abundant energy of a Harvest of Peace celebration.
Please join The Shambhala Touching the Earth Collective celebration of Harvest of Peace – a harvest of food, friends, and family. This year we are honoring dear friends, by especially inviting all those who attended the Family Camps at our Shambhala Land Centers this past summer.
And we will be co-hosting with the Griffin Carney musical family: Paul, Erin, Iris and Lydia.
We will celebrate with a lhasang smoke ceremony, an outdoor guided meditation, offerings of music, singing, and a special guest from Karme Chöling sharing from the garden of eatin’. Haha!
Come to our Wood Dragon table and bring a recipe, a dish to share (show us your pie online!), an expression of gratitude, a poem, a song – or bring a friend. We are making peace. Together. Please join in as we appreciate this precious earth and all its gifts.
Touching the Earth warriors come together with the aspiration to live within our planetary boundaries, retake our seat as good neighbours in the community of life on Earth, and to grieve for what we have already lost. Why we’re here: To inspire and engage the warriors of the Touching the Earth Collective to uphold the healthy sustainability of the sacred living environment for all beings. Clearly seeing the need for an urgent response to human-caused environmental degradation, Touching the Earth warriors invite individual and collective action for the rebalancing, protection and celebration of a healthy living world.
