Dana will Zoom in from her home in Israel to talk about the ability to refrain from taking sides and to have compassion for both sides (non-dualism). She will share the big challenges of suppressing anger and hatred toward “the enemy” and ask who is “the enemy.” She will answer questions about antisemitism, which she has worked on as an activist, and explain some of the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which, of course, did not begin on October 7th 2024. Dana will address your questions as much as she can and give some resources for those who want to actively help toward Israeli-Palestinian peace.
Dana Negev is an Israeli-American poet and peace activist who has been practicing Buddhism for many years. During the period 1993–2015, she was politically active in promoting peace and dialogue in Israel. She studied non-violent communication and participated in dialogue groups between Israelis and Palestinians. During the COVID epidemic, Dana was introduced to Shambhala through the Sonoma Shambhala Center morning meditation group, and she has found it a great support for the past 3 to 4 years.
