Smile at Fear

When we lose heart, what do we do? Fresh start—come back to our heart, our life force.

In this ten-day retreat, we will explore how we lose heart and how we wake up on the spot. This is the compassionate smile of a bodhisattva warrior of Shambhala. We will delve into the Shambhala teachings on fear and fearlessness by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, who said that the truth of Shambhala was his heart’s blood, his very essence.

We will travel the threefold journey of the Great Eastern Sun with the grounding of mahamudra sitting meditation, the heart-opening practices of the four limitless ones and tonglen, and the on-the-spot practice of raising windhorse. There will be time for talks, discussion, meditation interviews, qigong, walking outside, singing, and periods of complete silence. All are welcome.
