The Four Noble Truths

The Four Noble Truths are the foundational teaching in Buddhism. They provide a framework for understanding the true nature of suffering and the path to liberation from suffering.

The five-session class will consist of meditation, contemplation, dharma talks, and discussion with a focus on how to use these teachings to work with yourself and your daily life.

  • The 1st noble truth teaches that all beings experience suffering.
  • The 2nd truth explores the causes of suffering.
  • The 3rd truth offers the cessation or cure for suffering.
  • The 4th truth is the method to follow to end suffering, known as the Eightfold Path.

This is an entry-level Hinayana class that is for anyone, whatever level of experience you have of meditation or Buddhist study.

We will meet Thursday evenings, Nov 7 – Dec 12, 7 – 8:30 PM (skipping Thanksgiving Nov 28.)

If you have any questions about the program, please contact Tom Pearson.
