Dharma Talk with Jane Anderson

During this session Jane will speak about being a Death Midwife/Death Doula, the scope of services, and why this role is important in this day and age. She will also talk about her role as the co-facilitator of the Open Mind Open Heart Death Discussion Group in Longmont which was started over 6 years ago by members of the Longmont Shambhala Meditation Group. There will be plenty of time for questions.

Jane Anderson is a dedicated professional in end-of-life care and the wellness community.  With a deep commitment to sustainability, Jane advocates for natural funeral options that honor both the deceased and the environment. Her work emphasizes compassionate support for families during their most challenging times, ensuring that each time together is personalized and meaningful.

Jane is involved with TRU Community Care, where she has provided compassionate care and support to patients and their families during the final stages of life since 2016. Her dedication to holistic end-of-life care is broadened through her work as a Clinical Herbalist, where she believes that the gifts of the earth can help support our return back to the earth. Through her relationship with herbs and aromatherapy, she has created a line of essential oil blends that help support one’s passage across the threshold and the family’s journey alongside their loved one. Her creation in 2019 and current management of the Aromatherapy program at the TRU In-Patient Care Center at Longmont United Hospital also support those patients and families on the hospice journey.

Jane’s multifaceted approach to care, combining traditional practices with natural solutions, underscores her commitment to fostering a healthier, more compassionate community. Jane’s skills include holistic end-of-life care management, funeral home planning and facilitation, home funeral support, grief tending, and ritual.
