hippie india: Soñadores y buscadores en la tierra del Nirvana

David Zurick first visited India in 1975 as a young traveler on the Hippie Trail between Europe and Asia (Amsterdam to Kathmandu), and has been a regular visitor to the country ever since. He brings this iconic travel route to Lexington Shambhala Center, where he will present images from his new photography book “Hippie Indiaand discuss the cultural and spiritual exchanges between East and West that have been fostered during a half century of counterculture travel in India.

David is a two-time recipient of the Kentucky Arts Council’s Al Smith Visual Artist Fellowship (for photography) and the author of eleven books. His literary awards include a National Outdoor Book Award and Nautilus Award. He lives in the forested hills near Berea, Kentucky.

David Zurick’s photography was featured in our second show for the Mill & Max Contemplative Arts Gallery, which opened on February 19, 2015. His exhibit was on the Sacred Geography of Tibet and the Himalaya. A short video from opening night is below
