Nyinthün is a group practice of sitting and walking meditation. (Nyin is Tibetan for “day”, and Thün means “session” of formal meditation.)
The power of group meditation
The group practice of Nyinthün is a special opportunity to extend and deepen and one’s meditation. Being supported by the energy of group practice helps us to stay with the practice in a uplifted and supportive environment. The deepening of our personal practice afforded by nyinthün in turn gives momentum to our regular daily practice.
Both morning and afternoon sessions include a short dharma reading.
Nyinthün meditation practice is open to all and there is no need to register. Participants can arrive and leave as they wish, but please do so during walking meditation as much as possible.
Meditation practice is always free, but we do have a donation box and a Square terminal to help support the Shambhala Centre.
The Shambhala Centre will remain open during the lunch break, 12:30 – 2 pm. Participants may go out for lunch, or bring their own to eat in our community room kitchen.
Please note that we do not offer first time meditation instruction during this program. For meditation instruction, please join our Wednesday Open House.
There is no need to register. Please drop in.
