What Do You Need To Know?
  • This is a non-residential meditation retreat (no lodging provided).
  • Meditation instruction will be provided for anyone who would like instructions.
  • This will be a mostly silent combination of sitting and walking meditation.
  • A dharma talk or reading will be given each day.
  • Wear comfortable clothing (no special clothing required).
  • There will be a tea break in the afternoons each day.
  • Meditation cushions and chairs will be provided.
  • All instructions and talks will be in English.
The main practice will be Shamatha/Vipashyana (mindfulness/awareness) sitting meditation practice as taught in the lineage of Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche.  Periods of sitting meditation will be interspersed with periods of walking meditation, shamatha yoga, dharma talks, readings, contemplation and loving kindness practice.

Open to meditation practitioners of any tradition, we welcome both newcomers and familiar faces.  No previous experience needed.  Beginning, intermediate and advanced practitioners are all welcome to attend.  You’re welcome to join for a day, or two, or three…. or all five… whatever works for you.  However, we ask everyone who’d like to join to please commit to full day(s).

The meditation instructor, Jamie Reinhardt has been a meditation practitioner since 1993, and a practitioner of ashtanga yoga since 1997. In 2005 he became a meditation instructor in the Shambhala lineage. He has lived in Thailand for 18 years, where he runs an export business selling meditation and yoga products. He founded the Bangkok Shambhala group in 2007, and volunteers there to this day, as the resident meditation instructor & director of the center. He has three sons, and in his spare time he enjoys dancing, and cycling.
