Start, Restart Your Meditation Practice Now

In a retreat like setting, this session will provide all the instructions you need for starting meditation practice. It will also provide a great opportunity for those wanting to refresh thier practice. The session will include:

Instruction for mindfulness meditation, also called shamatha or peaceful abiding meditation

The view or philosophy of how meditation helps us connect to our basic goodness and humanity

Guided meditations

Walking meditation

Handouts

Suggestions for establishing a personal practice. 

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Please join us.

Valerie Morvan has been teaching meditation programs for 20 years. She served as the Director of the Atlanta Shambhala Center from 2003 to 2011 and remains an active volunteer at the Center. Valerie currently sits on the board of Interfaith Atlanta and is a speaker for its Interfaith Speakers Network. She and her husband Nick have taken up horseback riding in their retirement.
