Refuge Vow Ceremony
with Sabine Rolf
March 15 / 4:00 PM - March 16 / 6:00 PM
Dechen Chöling offers a Buddhist refuge vow ceremony, March 15-16, with Acharya Sabine Rolf. This is open to everyone who would like to take the refuge vow. The ceremony will be in English, with translation to French and other languages available.
In the Buddhist tradition, the purpose of taking refuge is to awaken from confusion and associate oneself with wakefulness. Taking refuge is a matter of commitment and acceptance and, at the same time, of openness and freedom. By taking the refuge vow we commit ourselves to freedom.
Those requesting the Vow must arrive on the afternoon of March 15th. There will be a full day of sitting on March 16th in the Dathün container. The ceremony will take place before dinner on March 16th. Friends and family are invited to witness the vow ceremony. Accommodations for guests to be confirmed.
There is a suggested contribution for the ceremony of €27. Accomodation is available for the night of the 15th and 16th March in the normal price range, if required.
To register please call Dechen Choling Office at 05 55 03 55 52 or email [email protected] before Monday 2 March.
Note: if you are already registered for the first two weeks of the Dathün, or the full month, you do not need to register for the ceremony in advance. Please simply make it known during the second week of the dathun that you intent to take the vow.
