Responding to Disclosures Training
February 8 / 6:30 PM - February 8 / 8:30 PM
At the Boston Shambhala Center, we remain committed to teaching and practicing meditation, and to work together as a community towards collective liberation. We aspire to create a supportive and healing environment for those who come seeking to ease their suffering. We are working on training our community to better recognize and undo the causes of all kinds of suffering, and to move towards a culture of even more safety, equity and respect.
Please join us for a two hour training to learn an effective model for responding when someone tells you they've experienced sexual violence. It stresses the importance of a supportive response to reduce trauma and encourage the survivor to seek further care.
This program will be run by experienced facilitators from the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, a local organization who have been working to end sexual violence through healing and social change.
This program is focused on gateway leaders, Shambhala Guides, Assistant Directors, Meditation Instructors and other people in leadership roles in the Boston Shambhala Center. There is a thirty person maximum, so please register here to join. We are requesting an optional donation to help cover the costs of this program.
