Warrior in the World (Level III and Joy in Everyday Life)
with Janet Bronstein & Marion Buckley
August 17 / 9:00 AM - September 28 / 1:00 PM
We are excited to continue piloting melded classes in the Shambhala curriculum with this program which includes the content of Shambhala Training Level III and its companion class, Joy in Everyday Life. The weekly class format makes the program accessible to people who cannot commit to a full weekend program and allows time to study and explore the teachings between sessions. The participants get “two for the price of one,” since credit for completing the six sessions will be given for both Level III and JIEL. The course extends over six weeks of five Saturday mornings and one full-day Saturday intensive. Please note that there is no class on August 31 due to the Labor Day weekend.
In this course, we see that while examining our habitual tendencies, we begin to look at our willingness to experience our life without relying on the cocoon. We begin to engage the world directly and extend the attitude of fearlessness to our activities. As meditation practice expands and we develop trust in basic goodness, we can begin to discover the confidence and personal energy to go forward on the journey. Joining gentleness with discipline leads to a sense of joy. The mahayana teachings on compassion can become the inspiration for a life of bravery and freedom from doubt.
Prerequisite: Shambhala Training Level II.
Generosity Policy applies: The Birmingham Shambhala Center does not wish restricted finances ever to interfere with one’s ability to receive the teachings.
- If paying the full price presents an obstacle to your participation, please use the "Pay what you can" option for registering, filling in the box with the price you are paying. You can pay online with PayPal or a credit/debit card, or pay the amount at the door.
- If you need to arrange a payment plan, please make arrangements prior to the program by contacting Christine Dietsch at [email protected] or 205-239-9648.
- For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “patron price”. Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
It can be beneficial for people to repeat classes they have taken in the past. To encourage and support this, we set the registration fee for "repeaters" at 50% of the Standard Price. For this class, the repeater price is .00 payable at the door.
