The Wisdom of the Heart Sutra
with Moh Hardin
April 6 / 8:30 AM - April 7 / 4:00 PM
In this weekend program we will explore how the wisdom of the Heart Sutra, one of Mahayana Buddhism's most important teachings, applies as we experience the current upheaval in our world and in the Shambhala community.
It is considered to be most beneficial to practice The Sutra of the Heart of Transcendent Knowledge, commonly known as the Heart Sutra, in turbulent and uncertain times. It teaches how to uncover prajna - "a clear, precise and intelligent state of being which has a sharp quality and the ability to reveal situations." Once revealed, then appropriate and compassion action can arise. This retreat will include meditation, talks, as well as chanting and contemplation of the Heart Sutra.
This exploration of the Heart Sutra will be of interest to all meditation practitioners. These teachings are foundational to Shambhala Buddhism and all Mahayana Buddhist traditions. It is open to the Shambhala Community, both members and non-members as well as friends of Shambhala.
Cost: The retreat fee is 0 which includes breakfast and lunch both days. If finances are an obstacle, please note that we have a generosity policy. Simply indicate when you register what you are able to contribute.
Venue: Martha Spirituality Centre, Great George St., Charlottetown
