Community Conversations

March 9 / 1:30 PM - March 9 / 3:00 PM

Open to anyone who has a connection to the Boston Shambhala Center. Pre-registration required.

In the coming weeks we will be offering small community conversations to help each other process and clarify our connections to Shambhala and our community. They will be facilitated by various pairs of your fellow community members, rotating throughout the next several weeks.

The schedule is as follows:

Saturday March 2: 11 - 12:30 - Mary Lang and Nealy Zimmermann

Thursday March 7: 7-8:30 Jim Katz and Sarah Kimball

Saturday March 9: 1:30 - 3 Judy Vreeland and Travis DeTour

So much difficult news has come to light, and we’re each in different stages of processing and reacting.  There is a great deal of uncertainty about what Shambhala can be or will become, but with that uncertainty comes open space and possibility, as well as sadness and confusion. We may disagree with each other about aspects of where we are right now, but we are committed to opening a space where we can try to hear each other, wherever each of us is in the moment.

The format will be:

A short sitting meditation

Listening circle/check-in:  allowing each person to speak without others commenting or giving advice or opinions. These circles allow for everyone to speak and be heard equally.

Some Q&A, followed by time for expressing what you care about in our community, what you’d like to see, what your aspirations might be.
