Shifting Culture Book Group: 'The Body Is Not An Apology'

with Katya Stewart-Sweeney
July 16 / 6:00 PM - July 23 / 7:30 PM

Please pay what you can afford to attend this event if the registration fee is an obstacle - see below*

This book group will offer a special opportunity to discuss The Body Is Not an Apology – Radical Self Love, by Sonya Renee Taylor.

We will balance discussion with time to journal and share in pairs, in response to the “Unapologetic Inquiries” and “Radical Reflections” throughout the book.

To get the most benefit, we recommend reading the book completely before the first meeting. However, all are welcome to attend regardless of how much of the book they have read.

Please bring your book and something to write in/on.  Books available at your favorite bookseller. A discount is available from Old Firehouse Books if you mention the FCSMC book group.

The Body Is Not an Apology is a radical, merciful, transformational book that will give you deep insights, inspiration, and concrete tools for launching the revolution right inside your own beloved body. Written from deep experience, with a force of catalytic energy and so much love.

—Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues and In the Body of the World

Sonya Renee Taylor is an author, poet, spoken word artist, speaker, humanitarian and social justice activist, educator, and founder of The Body is Not An Apology movement.

* Pay what you can afford

In order to make our programs accessible to everyone, we have a “pay what you can afford” policy.  If the program price is an obstacle for you, please decide what works for you and offer whatever you can. You may write in that amount in the "Notes" when you register online & pay during registration on the day of the event.

For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “patron price”. Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
