Shambhala Training Level V: Open Sky
with Donna Williams
October 4 / 7:00 PM - October 6 / 12:00 PM
In Open Sky, Shambhala Training Level V, one begins to sharpen one's awareness. One also finds the open clear sky of mind, which is a delightful source of wisdom and uplifted energy. By learning to trust our nature enough to let go into the present moment with gentleness and precision, the Shambhala teachings help us to soften our hearts and appreciate the sacredness of our daily lives.
The Level V, Open Sky, focuses on the pervasive quality of awakened mind, as we find ourselves able to communicate with the world gently and fearlessly.
Open Sky is the fifth and final weekend in the Shambhala Training, Heart of Warriorship, program. The Heart of Warriorship program provides a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, emphasizing the development of genuineness, confidence, humor, and dignity within the complexity of daily life.
Prerequisite: Shambhala Training Level IV
About the Teacher
Shastri Donna Williams has taught in the Shambhala tradition for many years. She presently has been developing a Contemplative Ecology program and is enjoying the forests and mountains of her home in Vermont, where she is the Shastri at the White River Shambhala Center. For the past 12 years she has spent time in Santiago and Copiapo, Chile teaching and staffing programs. Her interests include gardening and growing native dyeplants, practicing Shibori (a Japanese inspired textile art), and maintaining her 150 year old house in Bradford, Vermont. Her 3 grown children live in the West and she hopes to spend more time "out" there.
