Heart of the Buddha: The Six Paramitas
with Kim Kelso
August 17 / 8:30 AM - September 15 / 1:30 PM
During this class we will explore in depth the ancient teachings on the six paramitas or six transcendent actions: Generosity, Discipline, Patience, Exertion, Meditation, and Prajna (wisdom). By examining and contemplating each of these qualities, we heighten our awareness of them and begin to notice in our daily lives how our thoughts and behaviors hit or miss the mark. Cultivating these qualities is the way we refine ourselves and attain the awakened heart of the bodhisattva.
Through readings, talks, discussions and exercises we will together explore how to bring these qualities to life in our experience. The class fee includes the weekend class (August 17-18) plus three follow-up sessions (September 1, 8, 15). Please join us for what promises to be a rich exchange.
