Shambhala Weekend Retreat Level II - Birth of the Warrior
with Will Ryken
January 11 / 8:15 AM - January 12 / 5:00 PM
Shambhala Weekend Retreat Level II: Birth of the Warrior builds on the foundation of the meditation practice that was introduced in Level I and explores how habitual ways of thinking obscure the raw brilliance of the world we live in.
By opening to our own genuineness and tenderness, we learn how to work with fear to cultivate the willingness to see our deep-seated habits and defenses. This weekend program intensifies the discipline of meditation practice, which enables us to begin seeing through obscurations of habitual patterns that we have created over time.
Every Shambhala Weekend Retreat Level includes thorough meditation instruction, periods of meditation practice, one-on-one meetings to clarify questions, talks by senior teachers, group discussions and a concluding reception.
Prerequisite: Shambhala Weekend Retreat Level I: The Art of Being Human
Suggested Class to Take With This Course: Contentment in Everyday Life
Shambhala weekends are structured to offer participants teachings and an in-depth meditation retreat.
About the Way of Shambhala:
The Way of Shambhala is composed of Shambhala Weekend Retreats Levels I-V, each followed by a five-week course that expands upon what was offered in the weekend and brings the practice of meditation into everyday life.
Over the course of a year, the Way of Shambhala introduces the entire Shambhala path. This series offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of enlightened society by emphasizing the ways in which meditation can impact our daily lives, and from there, how the sanity of meditation can expand to impact our community and our whole society.
