The Sadhana of Kindness
with Donna Williams & Dia Ballou
December 7 / 10:00 AM - December 7 / 5:00 PM
with Shastri Donna Williams and Ms.Dia Ballou, Center Director
Shambhala Meditation Center of White River is pleased to offer a one-day program introducing The Sadhana of Kindness, a short liturgy invoking the moon of kindness in our heart as the basis for establishing enlightened society. This practice, initially composed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in 2015, is short, delightful, and a primary avenue into mahayana practice within the Shambhala tradition. The program will be led jointly by Dia Ballou, Center Director, and Shastri Donna Williams. Cost for the program is .00, which includes the cost of the sadhana.
We often find ourselves existing within a society that displays division, confusion, competition and speediness, where kindness may seem questionable, or even disempowering. This practice supports us in asking how we can skillfully and genuinely keep our hearts and minds open and present – even when we feel triggered.
The Sadhana of Kindness leads us directly to the experience of our innate kindness and what it means to be kind to oneself. With this realization as a basis, we can feel that others are the same. We can literally exchange with others. This kindness is our innate longing for connection that enables us to put other before ourselves.
The day will include:
-Receiving the lung for the Sadhana of Kindness
-Teaching on the sadhana
-Group exercises and discussion
10 am to 5 pm
