With Flip Kolthoff, Peter Nowak, Katja Hafemeister, Sarah Kimball
This European Shambhala Health Weekend follows up on the Shambhala health conference in Chicago, USA in 2017 and the 1st European Shambhala Health Weekend in Vienna in 2019. It builds on a long tradition of teachings on health by Chögyam Trungpa and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
The weekend is open to members of Shambhala who are:
- working in physical or mental healthcare (conventional, complementary or alternative) or in improving wellbeing
- currently patients or dealing with health issues
- involved professionally or personally in healthcare or wellbeing.
During the weekend we will explore our experiences, insights and questions about open genuine communication as caregivers in Shambhala. It aims to provide space for discovery and exchange about:
- How our personal spiritual practice affects our communication skills.
- How unconditional healthiness informs open authentic communication with patients/clients.
- How we communicate unconditional healthiness.
- How we can create a culture and community of open authentic communication.
On Sunday Morning from 11.45am to 1.30pm the space will be opened to all Sangha members and members of the wider public who are interested in the question of how to create a culture and community of healing communication and get a taste of what that might be like.
How do we explore these issues?
The weekend will include short talks, individual meditation and contemplation, exchange in dyads, smaller group contemplative work and plenary sessions
