This will enable you to participate in this five-week series. You may register for the umdze track here or the chöpön track here.

The five-week series may be taken as a package, which includes a discount price, or as individual sessions.

Each session will be 90 minutes, beginning at 12:00 noon Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

Session One

Saturday, June 13    Online Embodiment: How to Umdze Online – Umdze Corps Director Timothy Quigley

Exploring the subtle nuances of creating an online practice environment, we will look at how to umdze online chanting and practices. Zoom meetings can sometimes feel like a  disconnected, flat or one dimensional experience. By engaging in embodied presence, voice exercises, and our physical environment, we will cultivate skills that transform online meetings into something truly meaningful and alive.

Registration for Session One will close at 5pm on Friday, June 12.

Session Two

Saturday, June 20    The Living Lineage Holder, the Lineage, the Deity, the Practitioner – Walker Blaine, Master of Liturgies to the Sakyong

Does imaginarily fostering a connection with a living teacher empower our practice when we are unable to see or meet with them? What is the relationship between ourselves and the historical and semi-mythical figures in our chants and iconography? How do we invoke the magic of the lineage when we are on our own? During this session we will practice and explore the relationship between what is human in ourselves, in the lineage holders, and in the deities through stories and discussion of shrines, offerings, and chants.

Registration for Session Two will close at 5pm on Friday, June 19.

Session Three

Saturday, June 27   Practice Session  Rupa Acharya Suzann Duquette

Acharya Duquette will offer remarks on the chants and offer a practice session with those  practices done during Empowering Lineage and Ritual in Our Households. This session is available and free to everyone who attended the May 23 program.

Registration for Session Three will close at 5pm on Friday, June 26.

Session Four

Saturday, July 11   Integrating Ritual into our Everyday Lives – Umdze Corps Director Timothy Quigley

Engaging in ritual can become a seamless part of our daily lives. Through cultivating a relationship with daily chants, connecting with the lineage, and making offerings, we can strengthen and support all our activities so that we can “be cheerful in the morning, kind in the afternoon and inspired in the evening."

We will also explore how to integrate practice instructions given by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche for this time.

Registration for Session Four will close at 5pm on Friday, July 10.

Session Five

Saturday, July 18  Inviting Drala Into Our Homes – Chöpön Corps Director Andrea Doukas

The idea of Shambhala household is that from the portal of our meditation room, we can invite drala into every aspect of our lives - both by making offerings, and by transforming our own attitude toward the magic of our world. We will discuss shrine room offerings, kitchen shrines, indoor and outdoor lhasangs at home, and generally cultivating an environment that invites drala.

Registration for Session Five will close at 5pm on Friday, July 17.
