Vijaya, Fourth Kalki King Of Shambhala

Vijaya, Fourth Kalki King of Shambhala

Tibet, late 17th century AD
Distemper on cotton

Vijaya’s attributes are the ghanta (hand-bell) and the vajra (diamond scepter). The king sits straight with pendent legs and both feet supported by lotus blossoms. A tiny naga (serpent spirit) emerges for the waters, hands in the anjali mudra (reverence gesture).
