The North American target for the 2016 Shambhala Day campaign is to receive support from 2,000 donors, for $300,000 in total revenue.
This page will be updated throughout the campaign, so check back soon to watch the progress towards our ambitious goals!
Our primary target for the 2016 campaign is to increase the number of donors involved in the campaign by a robust 25%!! Here’s what that looks like visually.
In terms of dollars, our target is not as much of an increase over prior years, but it is nevertheless ambitious. We are aiming for a 15% increase over the average of 2014 and 2015 donation revenue.
The Shambhala Day campaign is a time when members join together to support the mandala, and the donation levels reflect that. Any gift amount really helps! As you can see from the graph below, it all adds up. Gift amounts on the lower end of the range contribute about as much as gifts in the mid level ranges, or the higher level ranges. This is not a campaign driven by a few major donors, it is a campaign that draws broad support across the community, and relies on that support for its success. This graph shows the gross donation revenue, broken out by “giving level.”
All this support from across the North American mandala arrives to the Department of Finance over the course of the weeks preceding and following Shambhala Day. Credit card donations come in online, cheques arrive in the mail from individuals, and Shambhala Centres and Groups send in the packages they collect from their members at Shambhala Day celebrations. All this takes time, and it can be up to two months or more following Shambhala Day when we are able to report the full results. However, we will keep this page updated as information is available.
That’s the 2016 campaign at a glance! Thank you so much for your ongoing support and generosity.
