This five-part series will explore key points in Moonbeams of Mahamudra with a special emphasis on mahamudra instructions for practicing with minds dynamic qualities (pensées, émotions, le pouvoir expressif de l’esprit, et afficher). The series will focus on chapter 10, Pointing-Out, and chapter 11, Sustaining Mahamudra. The first and last are summed in these two quotations:

Third Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje

[Mind-itself] is empty in essence yet clear in nature,
and its manifestations appear unimpededly as anything at all.

Saraha:

All appearances and sounds are like illusions,
mirages, and reflections: they have no real characteristics.
The perceiver of illusions is mind-itself, espace.

As with our previous serieseach session will include guided meditation, a talk, and discussion on an assigned topic of contemplation from the previous session.

There will be no assigned discussion topic for the first session.

There will be handouts for each session but it is recommended that everyone have a copy of Moonbeams of Mahāmudrā, translated by Elizabeth Callahan.

You do not need to have participated in the previous series to join this one.
