In the globalised world in which we live, full of famines, natural disasters, wars and blind selfishness, a compassionate and wise willingness to do everything that serves the overall situation is an important guarantee for living together in freedom, mutual respect and social prosperity.

Within the Buddhist tradition mindfulness meditation and contemplative practices like the Four Immeasurables—the cultivation of loving-kindness, współczucie, empatyczna radość, i spokój— offer a simple yet potent suite of practices,  that help us to open and empower our hearts,  counter the distortions in our relationships to ourselves, and deepen our relationships to others.

Barbary Märtens jest praktykującym Szambalę i buddyzm od ponad 40 lata. Będąc przez wiele lat starszym nauczycielem we Wspólnocie Szambali , she is also the director of faculty for Karuna Training Europe, organizacja zajmująca się psychologią kontemplacyjną, zdrowie i sztuka.  Barbara has grown up children and grandchildren and lives in Hamburg, Niemcy.

A Weekthun is a week-long meditation retreat which includes meditation instruction, rozmowy, praktyka medytacji, discussion and time to relax,  go for walks, enjoy the sauna, the lake and nature around Lindsberg. During the weekthun we will also offer individual meetings with an experienced meditation instructor. The program is open to everyone – both beginners as well as experienced meditators who would like to deepen their practice.

Lindsberg is beautifully located in Dalarna, about a three-hour drive north of Stockholm. It is situated near a lovely lake, a ten-minute walk from the venue, by which is an old-style wood-fired sauna. The house is surrounded by forests – perfect for long nature walks.

At www.sj.se you can book train tickets to Falun. The tickets for summer season are available from March. From Falun there is a local bus to Lindsberg (closest station is called Bergsgården and/or Järgarvet). The timetable for the local bus see https://www.dalatrafik.se

You can book buses at https://masexpressen.se/ to the city of Borlänge of Falun. From Borlänge there is a local bus to Lindsberg (closest station is called Bergsgården and/or Järgarvet).
