Introducing the Global Community Council (GCC)
The Global Community Council is a new community governance body that will work alongside the Board
- To bring the inspiration and information from segments of the Shambhala society together
- To envision what is needed for our path forward
- To provide a set of eyes on our finances and plans in order to ensure that resources, physical assets and opportunities are used most wisely
- To ensure that risk is managed prudently
These are the core accountability functions of governance. The GCC is a new collaborative and representative body, which follows in the spirit of Shambhala principles and history of engaged governance.

The first members of the GCC, who represent geographic constellations of Groups and Centres along with the Shambhala land centres, took their seats at Harvest of Peace, September 30, 2023.
