Awakened Heart: Shambhala Training Level IV [IN PERSON]

We are excited to offer this Shambhala Training retreat at no cost! We need as many people as possible cultivating basic sanity in the year ahead – able to respond to challenges with genuineness, confidence, humor and dignity. We ask that you commit to attend the full weekend, and to let us know if your plans change.

Registration is still required so we can prepare for the program. We hope you will join us!

In Shambhala Training Level IV, we learn how to awaken and open our hearts so that we can communicate fully with the world.

With trust in basic goodness and daring to experience the sharp edge of reality, we move forward with gentleness, increased awareness, and inquisitiveness about the world, as it is. We can extend ourselves to others fully and with kindness.

Saturday, October 5, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Sunday, October 6, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

“Basic goodness is very closely connected to the idea of bodhicitta in the Buddhist tradition. Bodhi means ‘awake’ or ‘wakeful’ and citta means ‘heart,’ so bodhicitta is ‘awakened heart.’ Such awakened heart comes from being willing to face your state of mind. That may seem like a great demand, but it is necessary. The sitting practice of meditation is the means to rediscover basic goodness, and beyond that, it is the means to awaken this genuine heart within yourself.”

~ Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

Pre-requisite: Shambhala Training Weekend I: Art of Being Human, Weekend II: Birth of the Warrior, & Weekend III: Warrior in the World

Registration Please register with an email you check regularly. We will send important information about the program to you via email and don’t want you to miss it.

You will not receive an email right away. Participants will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of registration, and a confirmation email with program details approximately 1 week before the program begins. Sometimes emails may end up in your promotions, spam or junk folder. It’s also possible that you’ve unsubscribed from emails from Shambhala, which prevents you from receiving the necessary emails. If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact [email protected].

Price – Our standard price is $185 for the weekend, but our primary goal in offering these foundational teachings is to make them accessible to everyone who feels it would be beneficial. We are waiving the price for this program. If you are able, we welcome donations, but none are required or expected.

Payment: We use Paypal to process payments. You can choose to pay through a paypal account (if you have one) or with a credit or debit card. Unfortunately Paypal sometimes disables guest checkout “based on several risk factors” and will prompt you to create an account. If you run into this issue, please email [email protected] to let us know. We hope to find a better solution soon.

In-person participation As an in-person event, all participants must agree to abide by the Shambhala Center’s current Coronavirus Precautions Policy. Additionally, we ask you to limit the use of scented products, as many people have chemical sensitivities. Note that our building is not wheelchair accessible.
