Level I & II Combined Shambhala Level Training

The Shambhala Level Training Series is part of the Way of Shambhala curriculum, an extensive path of training in authentic meditation practices and wisdom teachings.

This two-day program includes both Level I and II of Shambhala Training Series on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday April 28 2024. This is a hybrid event.

The program is open to people of all religious backgrounds or no religious background. It is recommended for new and experienced meditators as well as those looking to enrich their personal spiritual path and social action.

AGENDA

Level I – The Art of Being Human

The meditative state reflects the ground nature of our mind: wakeful, open, calm. The practice of meditation as taught for over 2,500 years is a potent way to recover our contact with the beauty and magic of ordinary life, directly and without struggle.

This ancient path of courageous self-discovery is based on the simple but revolutionary realization that every human being can develop the stability, clarity and strength of mind which is our birthright.  We can learn to tap into our basic goodness and let go of habitual patterns of mind based on fear, and directly experience our world and our life with appreciation and gentleness.

Level II – Birth of the Warrior

Birth of the Warrior builds on the presentation of basic goodness in The Art of Being Human (Shambhala Level I) and explores how our experiences in life lead us to develop emotional and behavioral routines in order to keep ourselves in our familiar comfort zone.  However, maintaining this comfort zone diminishes our connection to others and to the natural world.  Meditation practice allows us to notice our habitual routines with fearlessness and without self-judgment. Seeing the contrast between maintaining familiar patterns and opening up to the energy of the present moment is the basis for moving towards genuineness.

Women and men everywhere, at all times and in all cultures, have the capacity to wake up and live fully, passionately – to enjoy their lives in the deepest sense.  We can live our lives with heart no matter what twists and turns they may take.  Perhaps we start to wake up by rediscovering the sacredness of our life.
