Shambhala Ritual Academy, Year Two
with Suzann Duquette & Andrea Doukas
February 22 / 12:00 PM - February 24 / 6:00 PM
Registration is now open for The Shambhala Ritual Academy Year 2
For those who have not attended Shambhala Ritual Academy 1, see below for important information regarding the possibility of completing prerequisites online before the February 22nd start date.
Shambhala Ritual Academy, Year Two, builds on the view of ritual and practices presented in the first International Shambhala Ritual Academy and presents teachings from the second International Academy with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in November 2016. In these challenging times it feels especially potent to consider what our rituals mean to us and to explore how ritual practices can support us in times of adversity. The weekend will provide space for listening and sharing, recognizing that some of us may find it challenging to relate with Shambhala ritual and the questions about hierarchy and lineage that may be coming up. Together we could lean into whatever is arising on the spectrum of our experience.
Ritual Academy 2 focuses on embodiment and includes Mudra Space Awareness, taking the teachings to a deeper level. This academy also presents recent changes and developments of Shambhala ritual, and explores how to apply these both in one's daily life and in our Shambhala Centers. It offers continued training for those who wish to deepen their skills as umdzes or chöpöns and wish to make either of these an ongoing part of their practice path. Separate tracks will be devoted to refining these skills, as well as combined sessions to further our study of the Sacred World, Shambhala Ritual text. Shambhala Ritual Academy oaths and pins will be offered during the weekend for umdzes or chöpöns ready to make this commitment.
Who can attend?
Tantrikas who have completed Vajrayana Seminary with Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, or the Vajra Regent, or have attended Sacred World Assembly with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
You must also have completed Shambhala Ritual Academy, Year One; either the original RA1 in 2013 or a regional program such as the Ritual Academy in San Francisco in 2015, or the Shambhala Online version of RA1 which is available in order to fulfill this requirement (see further information below). In addition, a hands-on segment and, if needed, the lung for the Sacred World Shambhala Ritual text will be offered on Friday afternoon before the beginning of the weekend to complete the RA1 requirement.
If you have already attended either the second International Shambhala Ritual Academy in 2016 or one of the regional Shambhala Ritual Academy, Year Two, programs since 2016, you are eligible and warmly invited to join in this further exploration of ritual in Shambhala for a repeater price.
Please see the full list of prerequisites below.
