Open House Talk - Yeshe Tsogyal: Queen of Samsara and Nirvana

with Melissa Moore
March 26 / 7:00 PM - March 26 / 9:00 PM

Yeshe Tsogyal is said to be the embodiment of feminine principle according to Tibetan and Shambhala lore, but she was not without masculine principle as well.  Yeshe Tsogyal lived in 8th century Tibet, and she was a devoted practitioner and a woman who was living outside the boundaries for women in her time. Born a princess, Yeshe Tsogyal is known as the Queen of Samsara and Nirvana; Samsara meaning the ghostly confusion of human existence and Nirvana meaning the realized capacities all humans possess. Because she was so accomplished, Yeshe Tsogyal did not prefer one over the other - and she was able to demonstrate what it means to live with an ‘unbiased’ mind and heart. This evening will explore her life and her contributions to the Shambhala Lineage.
