Preliminary program for Entering the Stream: Refuge & Bodhisattva Vows

with Janice Glowski
August 18 / 8:30 AM - August 18 / 3:30 PM

All are Welcome.

Are you considering "entering the stream" and taking either the Buddhist Refuge or Bodhisattva vow? Or would you like to learn more about their layers of meaing and the practices and studies associated with them? Please join us!

(Note: This day of practice is highly recommended for those considering taking the Refuge or Bodhisattva Vow with Acharya Spiegel, September 27 - 29, 2019, although it is not required.)

As part of our exploration of the Refuge vow, in which one takes refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha (the community of practitioners), the day's programing will include participation in Shambhala Columbus' Monthly Governance Circle from 10a - 12:30p.

The schedule includes:

8:00a - 8:30a coffee, light snacks
9:30a - 10a opening chants, meditation practice; circle, brief talk & contemplation practice
10a - 11a meditation practice, with governance circle participants
11a - 12:30p Governance Circle with contemplations
12:30p - 1:15p lunch (brought in)
1:15p - 3p practice, talk (including the 'nuts & bolts' of taking the vows in September), group discussion, closing chants.
